hangar repair

Contract Number: W912BU-13-D-0005-0005
POP: 18-Oct-2013 to 27-Sep-2014

This IDIQ contract requires Burgos Group to provide rapid response for remediation of real property that included the maintenance, repair, and minor construction of Government facilities at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. The Task Orders (TOs) varied in scope and project type and included all planning, programming, administration, management, design and construction necessary to complete the work described in the scope of work associated with each TO. Five TOs have been issued to date.

Task Order 5:
Burgos Group was tasked with insulating the exterior wall of the hangar in Building 1817, painting offices and administration rooms, designing and installation of a fire suppression and alarm system, restoration and resurfacing on existing concrete floor with an epoxy coat, replacement of all rubber hangar door seals, and the installation of a heater in the mechanical/maintenance room. Burgos Group self-performed all design and management requirements of the project along with paint and rubber door seals. Approximately 75% of the construction trades were subcontracted.

There were no contract modifications on this project. This project was completed ahead of schedule. A wide open building with little to no obstructions made for a smooth and efficient design and construction. However, crews were challenged by the need to work in lifts 65 feet above the floor in the rafters of the building. Limited space meant restricted movement when removing and reinstalling insulation.
